The Edubuntu team is proud to announce that the release candidate of Edubuntu 10.10 (the Maverick Meerkat) is now out and available for general testing.

It can be downloaded at: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/edubuntu/releases/10.10/rc/

This release candidate will be feature-identical to the final Edubuntu 10.10 including:

• Updated artwork: tweaked desktop font and icon theme, window border and installer slideshow.
• Additional wallpapers
• Improved installer making LTSP and Unity extremely easy to install (see blog post)
• New softwares (gnome-nanny)
• Updated website (if you didn't notice)
• And the usual set of updates and bugfixes.
